LES EAUX MINERALES D’OULMES Wins the ‘CSR Initiative of the Year’ Award at the Peace and Sport Awards in Monaco

Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès received the CSR Initiative of the Year award at the prestigious Peace and Sport Awards 2022, honoring their commitment to education and empowerment of young girls through sports, in collaboration with the NGO Tibu Africa since 2020.

Today, in Morocco, only 11% of girls in rural areas reach high school, and three-quarters of young people without education or employment are girls. Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès and TIBU Africa are committed to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 5, promoting gender equality, considering sports as a key driver. Rooted in solidarity, citizenship values, and unwavering commitment, Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès is a socially responsible Moroccan company prioritizing the education of young girls. Through sports education and a strong partnership, they’ve established a socio-educational model.

This impactful program has positively expanded, opening 8 sports centers in 4 regions of Morocco, benefiting nearly 1300 young girls and over 8000 indirect beneficiaries. Naoufel Jellal, Deputy General Manager of Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès, expresses pride in receiving the CSR Initiative of The Year award, recognizing their efforts to contribute to the education of young girls through sports. In three years, they’ve achieved significant results, improving academic performance and self-esteem. The ambition is for this model to massively contribute to the development of a more inclusive and egalitarian Moroccan society.

The 13th International Peace and Sport Forum, themed “Sport, a Response for Peace,” witnessed the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and numerous sports ecosystem personalities. The CSR award acknowledges their essential contribution to global social stability through sports, recognized as a tool for dialogue, social cohesion, and the transmission of peace values.
