Casablanca, Morocco: Tibu Africa inaugurated a new Second Chance School – New Generation – Sports Professions in Derb Sultan, Casablanca, coinciding with the World Day of the Adolescent Girl.
Launched in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, and graced by the presence of the governor of Mers Sultan prefecture, the provincial director of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, the director of Dar America, and Mohamed Amine Zariat, the founding president of Tibu Africa, this momentous event underscores the commitment to education and youth development.
The new school primarily caters to girls and boys, offering a comprehensive program designed to enhance their technical, behavioral, and entrepreneurial skills. It also promotes regular physical activity to support overall health and academic achievement.
Furthermore, the school transforms underutilized spaces into inclusive and innovative environments that encourage creativity and openness.
In alignment with its mission, Tibu Africa reaffirms its dedication to empowering young girls through impactful programs and the establishment of centers and schools focused on the social and economic inclusion of girls through sports across various regions of the Kingdom.
In a press statement, Mr. Zariat highlighted the school’s purpose, aiming to provide a second chance to girls who have left the traditional education system. The program focuses on education, health, and the development of technical, behavioral, and entrepreneurial skills. “Approximately 1,500 girls from the Mers Sultan prefecture and neighboring areas will benefit from this school through workshops and activities facilitated by Tibu Africa experts and partners,” he added.
Malika Kna, Provincial Director at the Provincial Directorate Fida-Mers Sultan under the Ministry of Education, emphasized the school’s focus on girls’ inclusion through sports. The center currently serves 220 students, equipping them with technical, behavioral, sports, and language skills while benefiting their mothers.
Tibu Africa, in collaboration with various public, private, international, and UN partners, has consistently stood out for its programs aimed at training, empowering, and developing young girls. The organization operates 8 Girls Empowerment through Football centers, facilitating the transition from childhood to adolescence. Additionally, the “Girls CAN” initiative promotes employability and sustainable access to physical activity and sports for young women and girls.
Tibu Africa leverages sport and physical activity to provide innovative solutions across various domains, including Sexual and Reproductive Health and STEM learning. These diverse programs lay the foundation for a future generation of empowered girls who can contribute to Morocco’s development.
