Visa is taking proactive steps to bolster women’s entrepreneurship and sports in Morocco, aligning with its commitment to foster financial inclusion and empowerment among women. Through a strategic collaboration with the Moroccan NGO TIBU Africa, Visa is embarking on an exciting journey to promote social integration, education, and athletic opportunities for young girls in the country. The “Girls Can” program, a flagship initiative, seeks to ignite entrepreneurial spirit and pave the way for these girls to achieve success in their personal and professional lives. Visa’s dedication to this cause is evident through its previous initiatives, such as “She’s Next” and its partnership with Neolli, all aimed at uplifting women in Morocco.
Morocco, a prominent participant in the FIFA Women’s World Cup within the MENA region, provides Visa with a unique platform to champion women in sports and entrepreneurship at the national level. Visa aspires to create a compelling model of economic and social integration for the nation.
The program’s official launch took place on Saturday, May 13, in the presence of renowned figures from the women’s national soccer team, Ghizlane Chebbak and Fatima Tagnaout, both serving as Visa ambassadors and celebrated athletes.
Sami Romdhane, Visa Morocco’s Country Manager, expressed, “We take immense pride in our collaboration with TIBU Africa, as it empowers young girls facing vulnerable circumstances and promotes female entrepreneurship through the medium of sports. This partnership signifies a significant milestone for Visa in Morocco, reaffirming our commitment to financial inclusion and women’s empowerment.
Leila Serhan, Group Country Manager for North Africa, Levant, and Pakistan (NALP) and Senior Vice President at Visa, emphasized, “This program builds upon our ongoing initiatives to champion women’s entrepreneurship and support girls’ empowerment across the MENA region. By partnering with local organizations like TIBU Africa, we can make a tangible impact on the lives of these girls and contribute to the economic and social advancement of Morocco.
